Degree Options in CIT
The College of Information Technology (CIT) offers three degree programs:
- Computer Sciences
Computer Science is a technologically intense program that emphasizes computer programming, theory and design.
Students who choose to major in Computer Science typically enjoy programming and designing new software.
Graduates working the field tend to interact primarily with other technical professionals.
- Information Systems
The Information Systems program emphasizes the interactions and fit among an organization’s information technology,
people, and business processes. Students who major in Information Systems enjoy applying their technical skills
to the design and development of solutions to business problems.
Graduates working in the field interact with technical and corporate professionals
to design and improve business processes such as order fulfillment, supply chain management and product development.
- Information Technology
Information Technology is a program that combines in-depth education in technology with hands-on training,
along with an introduction to an area for students to apply their skills,
such as electronic broadcast media, music technology, administration of justice, education, or health informatics,
among many others. As an academic discipline, Information Technology focuses on meeting the needs of users
within an organization through the selection, creation, integration and the administration of computing technologies.
In addition to their technical peers, they tend to work with a wide variety of users.
