We welcome you to the web site of the College of Information Technology
at Georgia Southern University.
This page provides links for parents and corporate visitors.
While this page will provide links to information
that is directly relevant to you,
we encourage you to also browse through our other pages.
If you are physically visiting the College and have questions about Internet connectivity etc
please follow the link to CIT Technical Support.
The link on the left will take you directly to our parents page. There you will find information on academics, i.e. our faculty, our facilities, our programs, and the academic services that we provide either in the College of Information Technology or through University-wide offices. You will also find information on campus life, i.e. living on campus, student organizations that your child can get involved in, athletics, entertainment and public safety. Finally, the page will also provide you with information on the cost of attending Georgia Southern University and financial aid available. We also encourage you to visit our departmental web pages as they will provide you with more information on the various degree programs that we offer.
The College of Information Technology sets great store on its relationships with the corporate world. We have a world-class Board of Advisors that we consult frequently and extensively on a range of issues, including the revision of our academic programs. We also pride ourselves in how well our programs prepare our students for their careers. We encourage you to visit our departmental pages to learn more about our programs.
An important part of the education of our students are internships. All students enrolled in the Information Technology program are required to complete an internship, while many students in our Computer Science and Information Systems programs also complete internships. If you are interested in an intern, either visit the Student Services web page, or contact any of the department chairs, whose contact information you can find in the faculty and staff directory.
In addition to preparing our students for successful careers, we also provide corporate training and consulting services through our professional development center, a link to which you will find on the left as well.
Finally, the College of Information Technology is unique in that it runs an autonomous software development and usability testing center, called Eagle Informatics. Eagle Informatics uses student workers to provide high quality software development and usability testing services at a fraction of the cost. If you are interested in exploring the possibility of Eagle Informatics providing such services for your organization, please visit the Eagle Informatics web page.
