Kelvin R. Mason serves as Gulfstream’s chief information officer, a position he has held since September, 2000.  He leads an enterprise-wide information services organization that utilizes leading-edge technology to enable design, manufacture, sales and service of the world’s most technologically advanced business jet aircraft.

From 1992 until rejoining Gulfstream in June 2000, Mason was president and owner of Mason Businesses Associates in Savannah, Georgia.  His company performed consulting and contracting work that provided business solutions and project management support for varied business environments.

Prior to owning a business, Mason worked at Gulfstream in various progressive positions.  From 1983 to 1992 he served as associate programmer to section head of Aircraft Services application development.  He rejoined Gulfstream in June 2000 as director of the personal computing group, where he was responsible for acquisition, configuration and development of personal computing devices, and management of all desktop projects throughout the company.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in management information systems from the University of Georgia.

Mason is the recipient of the 2008 Black Engineer of the Year Pioneer Award from the US Black Engineer & Information Technology Magazine. He was also named to the magazine’s 2008 Most Important Blacks in Technology list, which honors leaders in the public, private and nonprofit sectors who serve as role models for the next generation.

His professional and community involvement includes working with the Savannah Stars Organization Youth Football; Savannah State University College of Business Administration Advisory Board; Georgia Southern University College of Information Technology Advisory Board; GD CIO Council; Johnson High School Future Business Leaders Association Advisory Board; CIO Executive Board; Vision 2000 Board of Directors; Community Development Board of Directors; Savannah Excellence Fund Board of Directors; St. Philip Monumental A.M.E. Church Trustee Board; Novell Customer Council; Savannah Technical College Cisco Academy Advisory Board; Computer Southeast Customer Advisory Board; Governing body of Atlanta CIO Executive Summit; Executive produces a variety of music including Gospel and Rhythm and Blues; He is a devoted member of an extended family and has godchildren locally and across the country that he supports and mentors; and he is co-founder of First Tuesday Hour of Power Ministry.
