Dan Ricks currently is an independent Consultant providing program management and leadership at AutoTrader.com. Prior to AutoTrader.com Dan provided overall guidance and leadership for the Enterprise Data Warehouse and eCommerce divisions within IT at The Home Depot. This consulting includes technology strategy and planning, initiative and portfolio management, and project management.

Prior to his Consulting roles Dan was the Program Management Office (PMO) Manager for SunTrust Bank. In this capacity he was responsible for management of the program office that oversees the most critical revenue enhancement projects at the bank. He was in this position from February through June of 2003.

Prior to the PMO Manager position Dan was the Business Technology Officer for the Commercial Line of Business. In this capacity he was responsible for the strategic technology planning and the alignment of IT objectives with business strategies. Dan performed this role for 2 ½ years at SunTrust Bank.

Prior to joining SunTrust, Dan held a similar Relationship Manager/Business Consultant position at The Coca-Cola Company. In this position he was responsible for all facets of IT management for the worldwide Research and Development and Special Technical departments. In this role he provided consulting services to clients, coordinated budgets and rolling estimates and sponsored horizontal networking with peers to identify reusable applications and components. Dan performed this role for 5 ½ years at The Coca-Cola Company.

Prior to performing the above role Dan was part of the applications development organization and performed the role of Portfolio Manager/Senior Project Manager at The Coca-Cola Company. In this position he managed reengineering and application development initiatives for several divisions within The Coca-Cola Company. Dan performed this role for 8 years at The Coca-Cola Company.

Prior to joining The Coca-Cola Company, Dan held various Information Technology management positions and was Senior Project Manager for a medium-sized holding company. In addition, he was employed by Georgia Power Company as a Systems Analyst for Human Resources and Payroll applications.

Dan is a member of the Atlanta Chapter of the Project Management Institute. He also serves on two boards at Georgia Southern University: the College of IT Board of Advisors; and the IS Program Steering Committee for the Department of Information Systems.

Dan graduated from Georgia Southern University 1982 with a B.B.A. degree and earned his M.B.A. degree from Georgia State University in 1987. Dan has been married for 20 years and has two children.
