Mr. S. Hart WillifordHart Williford currently is Senior Vice-President Operations for Memorial Health, one of the largest hospitals in Savannah. He took up this position in late 2006,
Prior to joining Memorial Health, Hart was the President of Morris Technology, a high technology company automating the Broadcast and Media industries. The company is a sister company of Morris Multimedia which owns and operates more than 85 daily and weekly newspapers and niche publications as well as four network affiliate television stations in eight states and the Caribbean.
He began his career in the Data Processing Sales Division at IBM in the mid-seventies. Hart later joined Digital Equipment Corporation as its branch manager in Charlotte, North Carolina. He moved to Digital’s corporate office in Boston and later became general manager of Digital’s Far East operations headquartered in Hong Kong. During his tenure in Hong Kong, Digital’s revenues and personnel increased more than five-fold. From Digital, Hart went on to become president of a medical and legal services bureau in his home state of Tennessee.
Later, he was recruited to NCR, subsequently acquired by AT&T, where he ran various divisions and eventually served as corporate vice president of channels and alliances. In this capacity, Hart was responsible for the company’s business with over 600 software and service partners. In 1995, he joined Kirchman Corporation, a leading provider of banking software and services, as their executive vice president of worldwide sales. Under Hart’s leadership at Kirchman, their revenue and profits grew substantially.
In May 1999 he joined H.O. Systems and served as President until the company was acquired by VeriSign in February 2002. While at VeriSign, he continued to oversee the companies operations as General Manager and Senior Vice President Wireless Services. Over this five year period, the company became known for excellent service and its revenues grew seven fold.
Hart and his wife Dee reside in the picturesque coastal community of Savannah,
Georgia. Hart is active in the community and serves as chairman of the Savannah
Music Festival board, and as past president of the Business, Education, and
Technology Alliance of Southeast Georgia. In addition, he is a member of the
board of directors for Memorial Medical Center, the advisory board of Savannah
Economic Development Authority, the Armstrong Atlantic State University Foundation
board of trustees, an advisory board member of the School of Information Technology
at Georgia Southern University, a board of director for the Savannah Technical
College Foundation, and he is a member of the Downtown Rotary Club. Hart and
his family are members of St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Savannah.
