Department News

IEEE Xtreme 3.0 Programming Contest: Two CS students competed in the IEEE Xtreme 3.0 Programming Contest - Shown below are Seth Andrews and Jake Swanson (Team a la code) after 20 hours of programming (hard to believe, isn't it?) . IEEEXtreme 3.0 was held on October 24th.  700 teams registered for this event.  Teams from universities in 40 countries and the ten Regions of IEEE participated. Jake and Seth finished in the top 20% of all teams, 127th out of 700 teams.




ACM Programming Contest: Four teams of CS students competed in the ACM Southeastern Regional Programming Contest on November 7th at Armstrong Atlantic University - Out of 81 teams in the region, team "Imma Let You Finish (Murphy Davis, Jack Singleton, and Michael Bragg) finished 29th, team "Omega Ush" (Corrie Jones, Joseph Lovins, and Travis Dawkins) finished 47th, team "Mustosh" (Josh Harper, Matt Ellgass, and Justin Burris) finished 60th and team "Jircle Cerk" (Corey Garvin and Tyler George) finished 71st. Team "Imma Let You Finish" is shown below during the contest.
