Information Systems Department

CISM 6120-Technology for Executives 2-0-2

Examines the role of information technology (IT) in business and how IT is used to solve business problems. Fundamental grounding in key areas of IT (hardware, software, data resources, and networks) is provided, with the emphasis on how IT affects an organization, its employees and its competitive position. The challenges and opportunities related to networked enterprises and global markets are also explored.

A variety of software tools are used to create solutions to traditional business problems, with the focus on the application of problem solving and critical thinking skills, rather than the achievement of computer literacy.
