Position Description:  Reporting to the Department Chair, the Lecturer of Information Systems will be expected to teach a full load of courses in support of the BBA degree and emphasis areas, with primary teaching responsibilities placed in two or more of the following subject areas: Oracle database applications, network administration, network security, object-oriented programming, and SAP/ERP.  The position will also include service work in support of the Department, College and University missions.    The Lecturer position is a 10 month, non-tenure track appointment, renewable for up to six consecutive years.   The salary range is commensurate with qualifications and experience.

 

Required Qualifications:

·         MBA with an Information Systems concentration, MSIS, or an MBA with significant industry experience in IS.

·         Teaching experience at the university/college level in 2 or more of the following areas: Oracle database applications, network administration, network security, object-oriented programming, and SAP/ERP.

·         Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and professional service at the university level

 

Preferred Qualifications:

·         At least 2 years of teaching experience at the university/college level in the teaching areas specified

·         3 or more years of Industry experience directly related to the teaching areas specified

·         Professional certifications directly related to the teaching areas specified

·         Demonstrated interest in discipline related research/scholarship and curriculum development

 

Screening begins November 1st with applications accepted until November 15th.  The position starting date is August 1, 2007.  A complete application consists of a signed cover letter, a complete curriculum vita, a list of courses previously taught (what institution, when, course description, number of students in class), and list of professional references.
