Cindy Tierney’s career encompasses more than 19 years of experience in leading and energizing the key operational facets of organizations to higher levels of performance. Her executive business vision and strategy paired with Ms. Tierney’s knowledge of technology and operations all contribute to make her a unique and valuable executive for today’s organization.

Ms. Tierney is currently Chief Information Officer of Beazer Homes. She is responsible for assessing the relative impact of emerging technology to strategic business needs and interprets their meaning to the organization’s senior leadership team. In her current role, she participates in overall business technology planning, bringing a current knowledge and future vision of technology and systems as related to the company’s competitive position.

Ms. Tierney has served in a number of executive positions. At NSI, she was the CIO responsible for strategic planning, systems and technology. At Comdisco (once the largest disaster recovery company in the world), Ms. Tierney was the SVP of Global Strategic Advisory Services. As the Senior Executive Director for Business Systems and Planning at Office Depot, Cindy was instrumental in the growth of the company from 200 stores to over 500 stores. Her leadership as the Chairperson of the Mergers & Acquisitions team resulted in the successful integration of 21 companies and the growth of the successful corporate sales organization. Ms. Tierney was instrumental in creating and implementing a successful shift to and integration of the web as a strategic differentiator as well as for the revamping of the vital credit card strategy for Office Depot.

Darren began his career in Network Services at COIN Banking Systems working as a Network Engineer and eventually managed the Technical Service and Engineering Department. In 1994, he joined two former GSU grads as a partner in Safe Systems, Inc. which has a focus on technology in the Community Banking Industry. Darren is also a stockholder and member of the Board of Directors for Gladiator Technology.

Upon graduation from Georgia Southern University in 1991 with a BBA in Information Systems, Buddy spent the first three years of his career working as an Oracle programmer to develop custom environmental tracking applications for Brown & Root Environmental at the Savannah River nuclear facility just outside Aiken, SC.

Following Brown & Root Environmental, he spent eleven years as a consultant for Clarkston Consulting performing in various roles from programmer to project manager for clients in many different industries.  During his last three years in this position, Buddy worked with clients in the Life Sciences industry.  While at Clarkston he obtained certifications in TrackWise, Siebel, and Pivotal.

From March 2006 to March 2008, Mr. Lichty served as Managing Consultant for Red Clay Consulting. Here he worked with clients in a variety industries managing Pivotal CRM implementation projects. He also started and led a Red Clay - Microsoft partnership using Microsoft CRM software.

Buddy recently returned to Clarkston Consulting as a Senior Consultant where he has been working with CAS CRM for clients in a variety of industries and performing system validation for clients in the pharmaceutical industry.

Mr. Lichty has served on the GSU College of Information Technology Board of Advisors since 2003.  He also serves on the IS Program Steering Committee for the Department of Information Systems.

Buddy is a regular visitor to IS and CIT classrooms to keep students informed about emerging technologies and to talk about his career and professional experiences.  His presentations help students understand what to expect upon graduation, what is going on in the high tech marketplace, and how to position themselves to take advantage of current and emerging job opportunities.

His hobbies and interests include North American big-game hunting, traveling to the northwest areas of North America, wood working, and is a volunteer for the Masters golf tournament serving on the golf course crew performing a variety of jobs.
