2009 Homecoming Weekend =
On Campus IS Alumni Reunion

November 13th & 14th

Due to scheduling conflicts, we have moved our reunion to coincide with Homecoming!

The weekend will include an opportunity to mix and meet with current students, an IS Program Update/Input Meeting (open to all), and an evening reception that will enable everyone an opportunity to catch up at Georgia's Bed and Breakfast on South Zetterower Road.

The Eagles will take on Furman on Saturday and we have reserved a limited number of seats for at Coach Chris Hatcher’s Game Preview Luncheon on Friday the 13th.  If you have some extra time to spare, please plan to come to town early and speak to one of our classes.

 Remembering IS Reunion 2008

March 2009 Atlanta Reunion- Here is a brief update from Angelia Huggins:

"Just wanted to let you know the success of our IS reunion in Atlanta this past Friday. We had 51 RSVP's ... but I venture we had closer to 75 in attendance.   Beautiful 70 degree weather at the start.  Good food, good company.   Dr. Tom Case made the trip up from Statesboro, along with Dr. John Pickett (and wife Billie), and Dr. Max Burns and his wife Lora.

It was a great turnout and reminiscent of the good times in IS at Georgia Southern!  We also heard quite a few 'other' Georgia Southern stories!   There was renewed interest in the University with many pledging long overdue visits, as well as some who have pledged annual gifts to Georgia Southern and COBA.

We've decided this should be an annual event in Atlanta and will begin picking a date and planning it soon.

Many many thanks to Danny Johnson and Darren Bridges for allowing us to have it at their Safe Systems office location in Alpharetta!"

Tom Case added these comments:

"I was pleased that we were able to attract alums going as far back as 1982 (e.g. Wray Upchurch, Datapath, Inc.) who graduated with a BBA-Management with an emphasis in Data Processing as well alums that had only been out for a couple of years.   I think this says a lot about the department's ability to remain student-centered and build lasting relationships with students for more than 25 years.

Having John and Billie Pickett and Max and Lora Burns attend made for an extra special get together.  Many alums hope that Susan Williams and Cindy Randall (and Jim) will be at next year's event."
