Dr. Dick has been involved with Information Systems Management for the last 25 years. This involvement has included extensive systems review in the Australian Audit Office, the establishment and management of the EDP audit function at the ABC with the associated membership of systems development steering committees, the completion of the M. Com in Information Systems and his PhD. He has run many courses in Information Systems, from skills development to management and control of systems and strategic planning and the use of IS for competitive advantage. These courses have involved nationals from many countries and have been delivered in Australian and abroad.

A noteworthy portion of Dr Dick’s work has been his involvement in educational issues - in the Audit Office this resulted in several training assignments in Australia and abroad; during his time at UNSW he has been almost continually involved in curriculum, pedagogical issues and programme administration. His research work too complements his experiences in this area, having published papers in experiential learning, IS curriculum, on-line learning and teaching ethics. He has been extensively involved with the International Academy for Information Management (now the SIG Ed of AIS), an organisation dedicated to promoting excellence in information management education, practice, and research. He is currently a Past President.
