The Department of Information Systems actively encourages each major to do at least one internship while completing his/her degree. The department also works with majors who choose to engage in co-ops to ensure that they can finish their degree in a timely manner. The increasing availability of online courses often enables interns to take enough classes to keep their financial aid and maintain full-time status; taking at least one online class per co-op rotation is also becoming more common. An internship or co-op provides a great opportunity for the employer and the employee to get to know each other and determine whether future employment is a good fit for both. We encourage you to contact us if you are interested considering our majors for internship or co-op positions. Dr. Camille Rogers is the Internship and Co-op coordinator for the Department of Information Systems. She will assist with communicating the internship/co-op opportunity to IS majors and with the completion of the paperwork needed to ensure that the student gets academic credit for this valuable professional experience.
