Recruiting @ GSU

The Department of Information Systems appreciates your interest in recruiting our students.  The BBA in Information Systems was approved in 1982 making it the oldest Information Systems degree in the state of Georgia.  The department additionally supports the MBA -- IS Concentration which means that Georgia Southern University is fertile territory for finding both undergraduate and graduate students that possess a combination of business and technical knowledge.  There are currently more than 1200 IS Alumni found at all levels in hundreds of business organizations of all sizes.

You are encouraged to participate in the LIT & IS Career Fair that is held each Fall and Spring semester.  Technical recruiters will find this career fair one of the best venues for gaining direct access to IS majors.  You may also find it valuable to participate in the university's Eagle Expo & Education Career Fair which is held each Fall and Spring Semester on the day before the LIT & IS/IT Career Fair.  Accounting firms interested in recruiting IS majors should also consider participating in the School of Accountancy's Meet-the-Firms Day which is held each Fall Semester.

Recruiters wishing to have dedicated access to Georgia Southern students on a personalized timetable should register with the university's Career Services office.  Career services can assist with the logistics of your campus visit including coordinating student interviews; their Eagletrak system enables you to view student resumes online and to schedule on campus interviews with select students.

Many recruiters also like to take full advantage of their visit to campus to build relationships with our students by making presentations to our student organizations or sponsoring a special social event. Some of the following links should be helpful if you are interested in interacting with our students in this way.
