The SAP@GSU Advantage

GSU students who complete a minimum of 3 SAP-approved courses are eligible to receive a SAP University Alliances Student Recognition Award (formerly known as the SAP Certificate) signed by the SAP University Alliances (UA) program manager and the Dean of the College of Business Administration.   IS Majors in the Enterprise Resources Planning Emphasis typically receive this award.  The SAP UA Student Recognition Award (SSRA) can also be earned by GSU students who minor in Information Systems. The IS Minor (and SSRA) enhances career options for students interested in working for businesses that use SAP software.   Students majoring in accounting, finance, human resource management, operations management, or logistics are especially likely to benefit from an IS Minor and SAP UA Student Recognition Award.

Students who earn the Recognition Award satisfy the education requirements to enter SAP´s TERP10 certification process. A TERP10 Review Course began in the Fall 2010 semester to assist students in preparing for this valuable certification.

The Information Systems program is housed in one of Georgia Southern´s newest academic buildings, the College of Information Technology.   This $33 million facility is one of the most technologically-advanced learning environments in the United States.  The 135,000 square-foot facility contains 25 interactive learning and study rooms, numerous computer labs, electronic classrooms and lecture halls.

We take pride in having a student-centered learning environment led by faculty members who truly care about student success.  Our ERP students receive personal attention rarely found at larger universities.   Our personal touch helps prepare students for internships, coops and permanent positions in SAP user organizations.

SAP software will continue to be included in more courses making it easier for students to graduate with this experience.   Graduate courses that include hands-on experience with SAP will provide MBA, M.Acc., MT-IT, and MSIS students with the option to earn a SAP UA Recognition Award.   GSU students will have the opportunity to use one of SAP´s newest ERP products: Business ByDesign.
