The Department of Information Technology in the College of Information Technology invites nominations and applications for the position of assistant professor in Information Technology. Position Description: Reporting to the chair of the Department of Information Technology, the assistant professor position of Information Technology will be committed to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and professional service within the University and beyond. The position is a 9-month appointment, and the salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. The successful candidate will join the faculty in the Department to provide support for the main program, the Bachelor of Science (BS) in Information Technology (IT). The BS/IT is highly interdisciplinary and provides strong technical grounding in IT along with a second discipline which provides students with an in-depth knowledge of an IT application area. Required Qualifications: Applicants must either have an earned Ph.D. or be within one year of completion of a Ph.D. in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a closely related field by the appointment date.
Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to applicants specializing in the areas of systems integration, human computer interfaces, web technologies, database technologies, IT infrastructure design and implementation processes and/or IT project management. In addition, preference will be given to those applicants with several years of teaching experience, industry experience, a well defined research agenda, and a track record of publication. A research agenda that provides a positive synergistic impact on current facultyˇ¦s research will be viewed favorably.
