Position Summary:

Institutional Student Assistants work in a variety of positions across campus. Departments have varying job descriptions for student employees. Some tasks often include providing customer service to office visitors, staff, and faculty; running errands on campus, tutoring, lab assistance, facilities monitoring, handling money, and performing clerical tasks. Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor/department. See Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities section within the job posting for department and position specific information.  

Minimum Education Required:

Must be enrolled in 6 credit hours at Georgia Southern University at time of employment and each semester after.  

Preferred Education:

Minimum Experience Required:

Attention to detail and accuracy are necessary; knowledge and experience with basic HTML, PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, CSS, previous Web Development Experience required. Must have examples to show of previous websites built at time of interview.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Will be a part of the University's Student Web Innovation Group. Work with the University webmaster and complete tasks as assigned related to University web environment such as web development or upgrades. Some administrative tasks may also be assigned. Work hours per week approximately 20.

Shift Specifics: 2-3 hour blocks during Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; flexible with class schedule.

Preferred Skills: AJAX software experience.
