The Opportunity
Business Systems Analyst I
Are you a person that can see the structures and patterns behind the workings of everyday things? Understand how technology and the real world interact? Can you translate that understanding into words and diagrams? If so, you might be the ideal candidate for this opportunity as a Business Systems Analyst within Aflac’s dynamic Application Services department. Specific responsibilities include:
•Collaborating with members of business and technical teams to understand the principles of new or existing business processes and software systems
•Building models of these business processes and software systems and documenting them with words and diagrams
•Collecting, structuring and documenting requirements using scenarios and/or use cases
•Creating presentations and other documentation
The Ideal Candidate Will Posses:
•A passion and talent for diving into the problems, processes and puzzles that make up today’s complex software environments
•An understanding of both business and technology principles
•Strong verbal communication skills; speaks clearly and coherently; can communicate with both technical and non-technical individual and translate between them
•Strong written communication skills; has good diction and grammar; can structure concepts coherently in written documents
•Ability to work in groups or independently with minimal supervision
•Familiarity with Vision, UML Diagrams and Use Cases
•Strong orientation and attention to detail
The Requirements
Education/Experience:
•Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field and up to two years of relevant technical work experience that has provided a basic understanding of organizational systems and capabilities, business operations and requirements, business modeling concepts, software development methodologies, etc., or an equivalent combination of education and experience
•A basic understanding of business operations and requirements, and business modeling concepts (required)
•A basic understanding of software development methodologies
