Reports To: Director

Intern will be part of a project team to design, build and implement an encryption solution for portable computer devices on the Georgia Southern campus.


This individual will gain an understanding of the requirements for installing a managed encryption solution, project management methodology and real world implementation of security applications.  Work experience will include working with other department technicians, communication planning and other duties as necessary.

 

Qualifications: Information Technology or Computer Science Major with emphasis in IT Security

 

Available: Now

Hours: 15-20 hours per week

 

Skills Necessary:

·         Basic understanding of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), encryption and the techniques used for encryption

·         A basic understanding of project management

·         Self-motivated and able to work in an educational setting

·         Ability to plan and manage multiple tasks in a timely manner

·         Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

·         Ability to equipment weighing 20-40 pounds
