POSITION SUMMARY: The Information Systems Management Trainee program is an exciting opportunity for high performing graduates to gain vast knowledge and experience by learning the business on multiple levels. Trainee positions are unique in that trainees will have the chance to take a hands-on approach to learning in all areas of a manufacturing plant as well as focusing within a specific discipline. Trainee positions also provide opportunities in supervision and/or in projects. This position is located in Davenport, IA for the duration of the training period of 18-24 months. Upon completion of the program, trainees are assigned to any one of the Nestle Purina PetCare plants located in the U.S. Anticipated start date for this position is January 2010 or June 2010. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Assist with maintaining and updating all plant computer hardware and software. 2. Act as plant contact with St. Louis on computer problems. 3. Coordinate computer repairs with vendors as needed and maintain log. 4. Maintain computer hardware records and systems drawings. 5. Perform and maintain appropriate systems analysis for Customer Oriented Manufacturer Management Systems (COMMS) and Manufacturer Execution systems (MES) Applications. 6. Learn how the initiation of software decisions and developments are made for COMMS and MES. 7. Learn support functions for existing applications. 8. Learn how to administer, execute, and evaluate applications training for plant personnel. 9. Establish and maintain good written documentation of plant common and plant specific applications. 10. Learn how to administer and maintain plant data administration function in accordance with Division Manufacturing Systems Architecture. 11. Assist in the planning and implementation of plant-related Information Systems projects. 12. Assume all other duties as assigned by reporting officials. KEY RESULT AREAS: *Develop the skills and knowledge required to manage Information Systems operations and development in the manufacturing environment. *Foster a safe work environment, ensure all quality standards are met, and be responsible for proper management of day-to-day operational environmental issues. *In the performance of purchasing functions, consideration and outreach will be extended to small businesses including minority and women-owned firms. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES: 1. Maintain good working knowledge of various plant areas as they relate to Information Systems. 2. Maintain good working knowledge of hardware technology. 3. Adhere to Manufacturing Systems Architecture guidelines. 4. Maintain working knowledge of process controls to ensure applications compatibility. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: *Bachelor's degree in Management of Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a directly related field required. *Cumulative GPA must be at least 2.5. *Must be willing to relocate to any Nestle location upon completion of the program. *Must be willing to work night and weekend shifts as required. Experience: Previous co-op or practicum experience desirable. Manufacturing experience a plus. Skills: Familiarity with PC's, Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and spreadsheet/database software. |
