IT Systems
Specialist

The City of Statesboro is accepting applications for an IT Systems Specialist. Job Duties:
The IT Systems Specialist serves as the first point of contact for IT
systems issue resolution. Through personal interaction or via helpdesk
software, documents issues in a clear and concise manner and resolves
issues in a timely manner and/or escalates as necessary.
Configures and installs equipment, performing or ensuring proper
installation of operating systems, appropriate software, peripheral
hardware and cabling according to established specifications.
Reads technical manuals and develops training materials and procedures,
and/or trains users in the proper use of hardware and software.
Creates/maintains accurate inventory records and software and hardware
upgrade schedules according to established specifications.
Minimum Qualifications:
Perform related tasks while employing a high level of customer service
techniques; communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing,
on both technical and non-technical matters.
Produce written documentation with clearly organized thoughts using
proper English sentence construction, punctuation and grammar.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships by working
cooperatively with others.
Knowledge of principles and practices of hardware and software related
to the establishment and maintenance of internal networks, computer
hardware, software and peripherals.
The ability to acquire technical certification in related areas within an acceptable time frame.
